Hi Greg, Most of network settings are compulsory, as ebMail relies on them to = connect to your mail server (to send/receive messages). The Login Name = field under Incoming Server means your username to used to login the = incoming mail server. For example if you are using MS outlook, it is = analogous to the field "Account Name" (in my case would be kylee, or for = you it may be greg.elliott). As you can receive email, I guess you can = find out this name from your mail agent. As you are using binary distribution, it would be ok for you to send out = message once you have completed the mail server settings. If you still = have any question, please feel free to ask P.S. I will forward this mail to the ebmail mailing list Simon ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Simon Lee=20 To: ky...@ce...=20 Sent: Thursday, September 18, 2003 6:07 PM Subject: Re: Re: [ebmail-general] [Fwd: ebMail - Request for = Assistance in Set Hello Simon Your diagnosis and prognosis were spot on and I can now display the = correct character sets, so thanks for sorting that out. I've set up my mail server details under Settings, however, I'm not = sure what is required against "Login Name" under "Incoming Server". Is = this information optionaI?, and if it isn't, do I need to get it from my = ISP? I'm going to experiment with sending some messages. If there's = anything else that I need to do before I can do this please let me know. = I'll probably come back to you post-experiment with some further = questions if that's OK? Regards Greg |
