I've just uploaded a commit to do just that. Well, not the announcement, just
the autogenerating of keys. There's a new user option 'Ebib Autogenerate Keys'.
If you set this, a new entry is automatically given a temporary key, which is
updated with an autogenerated key once you leave the entry buffer.

Of course, 'K' also still works, in case you want to change or update the key
manually.
