Hi Joost! Thanks so much for this function. It will be very useful to me. I have been using Ebib a while now and I am very happy with it. I have also migrated my task management to org-mode. And now I have the glue that I need to connect these two. I'm used to working with git so that will be perfect. Once I have set things up for myself, I will probably send a note to the org-mode mailing list. I remember that this issue has come up there previously, so hopefully more people will find it useful.
