#58 General Error - Could not open x for reading.

after new installation of phpBB 2.0.22 and easyMod 0.3.0
and placing just three mod folders in mods I get this puzzling error

General Error
Could not open [./mods/slick_groups/install.txt] for reading.

I have looked through faqs and even recursively set privs for everything in the forums folder to 755.

And after all this still get that error, I even removed 1 of the three mod folders 1 at a time and got the same "Could not open [./mods/the_mod_folder/install.txt] for reading...

Why is this happening? How do I get it to work?

I have just had the same issue tonight with a completely fresh install on a clean server. None of the mods are seen to be read.

Linux server clean phpBB 2.0.22
Happens with every different mod tried. Changed directory permissions etc.... deleted & re-created directories etc..... have spent 2 days working on this with every different combination/permutation I could think of or find nothing works!
