I would venture my issue might be the following:

This property is in my /etc/easyids/update.conf file.

If I put that url in my browser, it gives me a file not found.

The update.conf mentions it is not recommended to edit it.

Can I download the rules myself and apply it myself?

[Easyids-users] snort rules not updating?

Hi,

I'm trying to updates the snort rules in the "Rule Updates" section.

I am select the "Sourcefire VRT Certified Registered Users Rules" as I'm
simply looking to learn at this point.

I entered my Oink code, clicked Save.

Then I clicked "Start Update" and I still see the following about 90
minutes later:

"The Snort rules were updated:
*Not Updated Yet!*"

Am I being impatient and it would take longer to download the rules?
