Bashir: You are absolutely right! Normally, the RCP delta pack should be part of the plugin warrior. So much so that exporting an RCP may not work allright without it. I am not sure at that time if the languages pack should be in all distro, or as a separate addon. What do you think? There aren't many document yet, because not many people outside of =20 the team that started it have helped. But we can start it as needed. Quick overview: the easyeclipse "assembly line" is written mostly =20 entirely with Jakarta Ant, so it's a lot of 'ant' files, plus some =20 custom tasks in Java. The metadata about how to build, package, etc. =20 each plugin, is stored in XML documents (the "repository"). The NSIS =20 installer is relatively simple, but there are always enhancement to do. I would propose that you select a few of the bugs and/or enhancement =20= requests, that you would be interested in fixing/implementing (you =20 can actually add your own... your two previous emails were very valid =20= enhancements requests). I downloaded and ran easyeclipse for ruby and rails 1.2.1.1 I use win XP. I have a separate eclipse 3.2 installation which works just fine. When I ran easyeclipse it shuts down without giving me a message. I traced back to .metadata/.log and the error is "!ENTRY org.eclipse.ui 4 4 2007-02-09 17:06:07.390 !MESSAGE Unhandled event loop exception !ENTRY org.eclipse.ui 4 0 2007-02-09 17:06:07.390 !MESSAGE Cannot bind to an incomplete key sequence !STACK 0 java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot bind to an incomplete key sequence" I tried all the directories under easyeclipse\plugins folder and the problem is about "org.rubypeople.rdt.ui_0.8.0.604272100PRD" When I remove that folder easyeclipse starts normally but -of course- without a ruby perspective. Hi : No dark secret but a very directed choice we made for now. :-) Eclipse is really a self contained applications with many dependencies. While we could come with something that helps sharing and avoid redundant binaries, we made the conscious choice to waste disk space in favor of correctness when we started. This has proven so far better to avoid many small gremlins that have plagued the users of some Linux distro-provided Eclipse that are making every attempt to avoid redundancy. That being said, there is definitely work that can be done there to make things better! For one, we could have a way to share extra plugins between distros. We started playing with that on MacOS, and Linux and Windows should be laid out the same. The problem is that we are always trying to get smaller, more specialized distros. After testing easyeclipse i discovered that it's help content hasn't SWT
API doc!
So how i can include SWT API doc in help content?

Hi Joel: I checked the Koders update site, and if you get and check out the feature.xml inside that jar, (using any zip util) you will see that line: <feature url=3D"features/com.koders.eclipse.searchplugin_1.0.689.jar" id=3D"com.koders.eclipse.searchplugin" version=3D"1.0.689" nl=3D"en_AU,en_CA,en_GB,en_IE,en_IN,en_NZ,en_US,en_ZA,en"> Note the nl part. It looks like there are restrictions on the locale they support (mostly English locales) Could that be the reason? =20 Was http://www.koders.com/downloads/EclipseUpdateManager/beta the update site you used? The only other issue I could think of is that they do not support Java6. Hi all: we have released a new version 1.2.1.1. This a major bug fix for the C/C++, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python, and LAMP distributions. The 1.2.1 release introduced two bugs in the built-in Java runtime that those distributions require. Many people reported issues when using non-English languages and non-western European character sets. Linux users may also have experienced weird crashes and other unexplained problems.
