We are a small shop interested in migrating from a Silverstream (now Novell Extend) application server and Designer (IDE) tool to design and deploy basic JSP's to open source. Is "EasyEclipse" a good choice? If so, how do you recommend we start?
Thanks.

Hey I am biased.
I think it is a really gret choice!
And I would love the feedback.
You would get very good support for JSP.
You can try setting up yourself based on the current preview...
Or wait a couple weesk when 1.0 is out there!
We are working quite hard on it.
Now, just for the fun of it:tell me what would be your dream IDE?
And I will try to build it for you!

I'm a newbie trying to get started with Eclipse. I'm trying to download EasyEclipse but I cannot do so, despite several tries. When I start the download, it stops after 124Kb-160Kb and says that it is finished. When I try to open the file, I get a message telling me the file is corrupted.
Only once did the download get past the stage described above; it got to abou 2.7Mb and hung.
I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2. Any idea as to what I may be doing incorrectly?
Thanks.

The home page http://www.easyeclipse.org tries to make it clear:
"
EasyEclipse packages together Eclipse, the open-source software development platform, and selected open source plugins.
We select, assemble, test, patch, build installers and document
a full IDE, offered as reliable distributions and plugins.
EasyEclipse is:
* Free and open-source,
* Easy to download and install, and
* Simple to maintain, without version and dependency issues.
"
Tell me if it's not clear, we'll try to improve it...
thanks !

This could only be an issue with mirrors and browser cache.
Could you try another download URL?
Here are a few for you : http://switch.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/easyeclipse/easyeclipse-core-windows-0.8.1.exe
http://easynews.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/easyeclipse/easyeclipse-core-windows-0.8.1.exe
http://internap.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/easyeclipse/easyeclipse-core-windows-0.8.1.exe
Thanks to pombredanne, my problem with downloading EasyEclipse is solved. I tried the first alternate URL he provided, and it worked like a charm.
Thanks, Philippe, for your quick and accurate response!
