EasyCalc vs Ti-89 or HP 49G+

    Hello,

I'm getting back into some mathematics and science courses after a long hiatus (like 10 years or so).  I'm looking at a variety of options, such as the Ti 86 or 89, the HP 49G+ (used a 32SII a lot, and still have it, and had a 48G, and hated it), and EasyCalc.

I've been looking at getting a new PDA, and was wondering how EasyCalc on something like a Sony Clie compares to a dedicated graphing calculator like the ones I mentioned.

    Thanks,

    nuk

I have a Palm Tungesten E. I know that EasyCalc is much better than TI-83 Plus, I guess TI-89 falls into about the same category. What I love about EasyCalc is the functionality, and the tracing of graphs.

Although I use and love EasyCalc, I have to say that the TI-89 is much, much more powerful mathwise (it's also more programmable).  It supports symbolic operations-- for example, it can factor things like x^2+5x+6, and it can also do derivatives and integrals symbolically.

      My two cents.

If easycalc where programable, i mean with conditional and loop functions, it would be far beyond hp-49

Does EasyCalc support scatter [lots and best-fit lines?

Good joke, i love easycalc but is so far from the level of ti89.

The symbolic calculation for the 89 can't be beat. Also built in unit conversions is nice

I used to have easycalc but then my pda screen broke and now I have a ti-84+ silver. Both graphing calculators are pretty much too advanced for me. I remember easycalc being very complex though (then again I was in 7th grade and in Algebra 1)
