It would be useful to supply a few sample parts in a pre configured library.
For example R0805 & R0603 & a test pcb.
I am struggling to assign parts to the data base, it just won't save.
Thanks
jim

I will prepare some example PCB in v2.9.

Probably You don't have access to save data in files. If You use windows change rights for folder 'PCB' (and subfolders/files) - read/write for all users (PPM->Properties->Security->Edit). Similar thing you need to set if You use Linux (chmod with parameter -R).
For next release (v2.9) I will try to prepare tutorial.

It's a bug in script :). Unfortunately it's not a problem with permission (but it's also important).

Hello Mariusz,
Thanks for your reply regarding permissions & bug.
I had tried changing permissions to no avail!
I will try again with the new release.
Thanks for sharing your project, I am very impressed with it.
This will be a very useful tool.
I currently use Eagleup to create 3d board models in sketch up.
Working in freecad with solid models will be a real benefit.
Best regards
jim
