Hi,
in gEDA exists layer called solder mask. It acts as it's called. But
FreeCAD-PCB does not render it. It's look can be hacked in FreeCAD by setting
line color of pad layer to white, board color to light green and copper traces
to dark green as can be seen at screenshot. But if above hack is used there new
sort of render problems appear:
The first vias and pads FreeCAD-PCB consider to be the same type of objects and
place them all in the same layer (tPad,bPad), but it's not as the pads are and
vias aren't cleared with solder mask.
The second problem is that using line color on pads make copper traces invisible
below the solder mask clearance. I highlighted that places using blue color at
one of the screenshot.
I think that solder mask is not defined in PCB file as some object but even
in gEDA it is computed on the fly from clearance parameters of pins and pads.
