I am currently building e2fsprogs-1.34 on Solaris, just using debugfs to dump out the contents of an ext2 filesystem image. I decided to check the latest version 1.40.11 and it doesn't build on Solaris.
../configure --disable-swapfs --disable-imager --disable-resizer --disable-nls
checking whether byte ordering is bigendian... yes
../config/parse-types.sh: bad substitution
Usage: grep -hblcnsviw pattern file . . .
cp: cannot access asm_types.h
asm_types.c:12: warning: #warning __U8_TYPEDEF not defined
asm_types.c:21: warning: #warning __S8_TYPEDEF not defined
asm_types.c:30: warning: #warning __U16_TYPEDEF not defined
asm_types.c:39: warning: #warning __S16_TYPEDEF not defined
asm_types.c:49: warning: #warning __U32_TYPEDEF not defined
asm_types.c:58: warning: #warning __S32_TYPEDEF not defined
asm_types.c:68: warning: #warning __U64_TYPEDEF not defined
asm_types.c:77: warning: #warning __S64_TYPEDEF not defined
../config/parse-types.sh: !: not found
checking for inttypes.h... (cached) yes
There is no asm/asm_types.h header so the script blows up
here. Any suggestions, or is Solaris compatibility not
maintained any more?
