No

This is more or less a duplicate of bug #3001123 , but I cannot attach files to that. So that's why I created a new report.

I get a kernel panic within minutes after I perform an rsync from a different machine. It sometimes crashes within a minute, but usually crashes within 15 minutes.

The machine is a brand new asrock a330ion motherboard, with standalone 82574L on the PCIe. As far as I can tell the BIOS is up to date. It runs a pretty much fresh install of Ubuntu 10.4 desktop.

I get a kernel panic with both the stock 1.0.2-k2 driver, as with the 1.1.9 driver. I cannot compile the 1.2.8 driver.

I disabled ASPM like suggested in that other bug report, and so far it hasn't crashed yet.

If disabling ASPM does not fix the problem, we can continue to debug it. A fix is in development for the ASPM problem in the driver.

A week has passed, and the system didn't lock up once. More than enough data has passed the network card which previously would lock it up.
So I think it's safe to say that ASPM was the culprit.
