It will be usefull if the editor ignored any text
between the '<%' - '%>' and '<%=' and '%>' marks in
embeded perl code in html files.

It will allow users to use the perl editor to write
perl code for Apache::ASP and mod_perl.

It should be easy to do. For example to treat evrything
between '<%' and '%>' just like a '=pod' and '=cut'.

Isn't it the other way round? ignore everything but content inside <% .. %>. From my understanding supporting embperl or Apache::ASP requires registering a different parser for a different filetype, which is perl embedded in HTML. I don't know how popular this approach is anymore nowadays, FWIW the tendency is more towards dedicated, non-programming templating languages, like mustache or handlebars.

Closing it as won't fix. Let's see if there is continuing demand. If so, someone should just create a new feature request.
