No

A variable returned from a subroutine may be an object reference, so content assist should work on such variables.

For example:

sub createObject {
my $newObject = Class->new();
return $newObject;
}

my $object = createObject();

$object-><content assist>

    This is not going to work, as the content assist can only guess at the runtime type of the variable in question based on the text of source file(s). The real runtime type could be anything and is only available during the program's execution.
