I'm running Eclipse 2.1.0 build 200303272130 & EPIC 0.1.0 on Windows 2000.
Whenever I'm typing code into the editor for a Perl script, a CMD window flashes on the screen briefly about once per second. It stops when the syntax check comes up clean, so I think it's tied into the syntax checker. Anyone know if this is something I have configured wrong, or a bug, or an Eclipse "feature"? Is there any way to stop it? It's driving me nuts.
this is a known java problem.
Here are the solutions given in the FAQ:
1. Using JDK 1.4 upward should fix the problem.
2. If you are using ActiveState Perl use wperl.exe instead of perl.exe in the EPIC preferences.
3. If you want to use a different Perl interpreter (e.g. cygwin perl) download launcher.zip unpack it (e.g. to c:\launcher) and specify c:\launcher\launcher.exe in front of the Perl Execuable in the EPIC preferences.
Hope that helps.
