#7 New tabs sometimes are not active

With v1.1.0 (haven't noticed with 1.0 branch),
sometimes when you create a new tab (via the menu), the
new tab appears, but is not active, ie any typing
apears in the old menu, and only clicking on the newly
generated tab can you make the new tab active. From
then on it works fine.
