I was thinking of something along the lines of ....

In original document

someLayer.setHTML ( 'someWebPage.html?layer=someLayer' ) ;

In "someWebPage.html"

theParam = <-- code to parse out URL (can't remember what the JS code for this is, but
there is a function to do it ) -->

document.write ( "<a href='#' onClick='" + theParam + ".setHTML(\'myNewPage.html\')'>My
Link</a>

.. if you know what I mean.
