Thats only if your using a parser on the server side.  Browser are "tag
lazy", so are most old school HTML coders.  W3C is trying to get people in
that habit of forming good tag structures.

Well, kinda.  An ill-formed XHTML page will not display.  Also, XHTML has
required closing tags for things like <P> and single tags are closed with />
and not just >.  Oh yeah, <FONT> is finally being depricated.
