The reloading of images is seems to be an IE issue.
I've made some changes to the functions.image.js file
to prevent it from downloading downsrc images if it's
not present. The getImage() is now setup to minimize
image reloads, but I don't know of a way to stop it
all together (well, not yet).

That's true. I think I'll try to fix this in the next
release. The HTMLCalendar is currently very complex so
it might have to be rewritten in the future.
