I have an application that creates a number of HTMLTextBox components. I don't wrap them in a form, if I need to, I can change my application. My problem is that when the text is set from javascript, all sets go to the first created text box. Here is a bit of a log, including the name of the HTMLTextBox ala the tostring method. Setting 1 DynObject.all.DynObject63 to Username, prior text :: Text now is : Username Setting 2 DynObject.all.DynObject71 to 3:mobile for Mobile Setting 2 DynObject.all.DynObject73 to Mobile, prior text :Username: Text now is : Mobile Setting 3 DynObject.all.DynObject81 to 1:Auto for Auto Setting 4 DynObject.all.DynObject92 to 555 555 1212, prior text :Mobile: Text now is : 555 555 1212 |

If you're using DynAPI 3, GroupManager might be what you're looking for. You can assign layers to a group, and when any of the layers in that group are moved, all the rest come with it. You can further tweak it so some layers move freely but are still in the group when the rest are moved. Check out the example in dynapi3x/examples/dynapi.gui.groupmanager.html . Get the latest nightly CVS snapshot for the most up-to-date code. I have a composit object, made of about 12 different html components that I want to have a bounding box, this I set into another layer. I want the whole thing to be tied to that final layer and move with it etc. It seems that all layers, regardless of parentage are positioned against the dynapi.document, not their parent. Is there a way to get parent relative positioning? |

I looked at the fader.js code to see if I could create a function that = sets the opacity for a layer, but I can't get it to work and I'm not even really sure what to add to = get it to work. So what do I need to modify to be able to set the opacity for a layer? I know I can use a css style and use setClass(...),=20 this works but I would like to do it through the DynLayer class. Thanks, Lucas |

Sure. Where in the docs / examples tree should this go? It's more basic javascript than DynAPI specific. Not sure where to put it. Hi, My ISP's mailserver has been randomly lagging or dropping messages, and sending them out of sequence. Sorry if this causes any confusion. I'm considering setting up my own (exim) mailserver. Leif |

I've created a simple example page showing how to do this, based on Doug's enlightening suggestion to put the dynlayers in the "window" namespace by using this.dynlayer_name = new DynLayer instead of var dynlayer_name = new DynLayer. * Declare a dynlayer "this.lyr" in frame2. * Now you access a dynlayer in frame2 from frame1 using this.parent.frame2.lyr Leif ----- Original Message ----- From: <an...@co...> To: <dyn...@li...> Sent: Thursday, August 21, 2003 4:55 AM Subject: Re: [Dynapi-Help] DynDocument ... > Hi Doug, > I've tried to do: parent.visual.mylayer.setHTML(...), > but nothing! > I know that there's the api DynDocument to get an > object that rappresents my frame: > myframe = new DynDocument(parent.visual) > the object myframe should contains an array children but > it's empty! argghhhh :( > > anyone know if i'm wrong in something? > > thanks > antonio > > Il Wed, 20 Aug 2003 01:27:05 -0400 > "Doug Melvin" <do...@cr...> ha scritto: > > > The best I can tell you is that if I declare a variable as > > this.myVariable i can then access it from other windows > > or frames quite easily. Have you tried the lastest snapshot with the new setAutoSize() function? Hi Guys, Quick question. When using DynAPI 3 to handle onload events, is there any way to specify an order that the events happen in? For instance, I want to read some content into a DynLayer from a inline div. Then I want to resize and place the DynLayer in the browser using getWidth and getHeight information that is unavailable until the inline layer is loaded. I'm using dynapi.onLoad() to call functions for getting the inline layer and also for setting the size and position of the layer, but the resize function is getting called before the inline layer is loaded, so the DynLayer has no size yet, and it's not working. Can I switch the order of these functions being called without rewriting the DynAPI? onLoad and _onLoad functions? Thanks, Jeremy |
