Dear all,
My Config:
- Win2000
- Dynapi 2.45
The Problem:
When viewport(dynapi.gui.viewport.html) is viewed in
NS6, try this. Scroll the document a bit... then try
to select the text.
You will notice that you can only select up to the
area where height is specified within the scroll area.
How it will bug an END-USER and drive em' MAD:
1) you can't 'seem' select the text(altho you did,
visually it does not tell you so)
2) try putting in a FORM tag like "checkbox"
or "radiobutton" AFTER the 'scrollareabox' so it is
hidden unless you scroll down. You can't seem to click
on it(Altho technically u did, but it does not show)
Summary:
This only happens in NS6 win2000 works OK in IE5 and
NS4. If after you click on the checkboxes(altho it
does not show) and scroll the document a bit it shows
back the state again.
This is to say the least driving me nuts :P I tried
searching all over the forum but nobody seem to be
having this problem??? Am I missing something? Please
telll me how I can fix this... thks

In fact the viewport example behaves funnily up to now, so
IE5.5 or NC4.7 on Win95 (I believe they are still targets)
do make clicking the "Add Label... to Viewport" a matter of
chance: labels show up or not at will, it seems...I tried
to make some "real" pages work with IE, NC on Win and Linux
but still cannot tell of great success - it is all a can of
worms and a task too complicated (if not chaotic) it seems.
Nevertheless thanx go to those who tried and still do try.
Any thought of structure, module, or component seems void in
a world where incompatibility and disinformation is driven
to its extremes as a means of competition. A recent book
(Cliff Wootton: "Javascript Programmer's Reference", Wrox
Press) puts me in doubt if we should still reengineer
against marketing hype or not better definitely switch to
OpenSource (Amaya, Konqueror etc.), although it is still a
considerable way to go. At least it is a way well paved.
