i am trying to get the music to work for Mall Tycoon i have the cd but no cd drive and i can't get the music off it. I have followed a guide on how to do it correctly and have all the tracks from the game but if I load the game i can hear sounds but no background music anyway to fix this or is _inmm.dll a good programme to use or is there any other way
I do have the audio files just need to get them to work in the game

Step 1: Enable Expert mode
Open DxWnd.
Go to Options > Expert mode to enable it.
Step 2: Add a profile for your game
Right-click anywhere in the main DxWnd window and select Add.
Click the ... button next to Path and navigate to your game's executable file (e.g., motor.exe).
Step 3: Configure the CD audio settings
In the new profile window, go to the CDaudio tab.
Enable one of these options:
Play from CD: Uses your physical CD drive.
Use audio files: Plays ripped audio tracks from a "Music" folder in the game's directory.
Rip CD audio: Automatically rips the audio from a physical CD when the game starts.
i used Use audio files since a music folder is in the games directory with all the tracks
It is recommended to enable Emulate CD mixer to allow for volume adjustments.
Step 4: Configure hooks
Go to the Hook tab.
Change the Injection mode to Inject DLL.
Step 5: Save and run
Click OK to save the profile.
Double-click the game's profile in the main DxWnd window to launch it.
also it stays on the loading screen and i can click stuff but nothing else happens

If there is a Music folder filled with audio tracks, probably you also have a _inmm.dll file in the game folder. This is an alternate way to play CD audio tracks, but it is incompatible with DxWnd. If you see that file you have two options:
1) disable DxWnd CDA emulation and hope that _inmm.dllwill do its work
2) delete (or, better, rename) _inmm.dll and use DxWnd
DxWnd can play .mp3 files, but the name of the files must follow the expected schema, that is track<nn>.mp3 where <nn> starts from 02 up to the last track number. If you have doubts, please post here the name of these files, I will check them.</nn></nn>

The devil hides in the details. All these files have a space in between. You will have to rename them all, like this: Track 02.mp3 -> Track02.mp3
and so forth.

Now if you enable the DxWnd CDA emulation with "Use audio files" and run the game, you should hear the CD sound and the Music folder should hold a new file tracklen.nfo, built automatically by DxWnd. If you still have problems, please post here the exported configuration (use the "eXport ..." menu command) and the tracklen.nfo file.
