strategic command ww2 Pacific Theater (2008, battlefront)

Okay i am trying to get this game from 2008 working and I can get it running fine, but the in game graphics are messed up where all the 2d texture tiles that make up the map are missing half their whites so there are just triangles of white everywhere (see the picture)

So i thought maybe Dxwnd can help but when i try and run this in dxwnd i get firstly a message that says

Injection
Start address was not reached. Wait another 5 seconds?

if hit okay then i get the message:

Get thread context error=31

and then the message:

thread blocked eip = 770295ec addr=412bc0

what does any of this mean?

Usually this means that something wrong happened in the hooking phase. This may depend on some previous DxWnd activity that didn't complete. In this case exiting DxWnd.exe and starting it again should fix the problem. Otherwise, there could be a permission problem, maybe the antivirus or some Microsoft shim kept the program locked, you can try to assign administrator's capabilities to DxWnd.exe.
Anyway I'm trying to reproduce the problem, but what release of the game are you using? I see that there is a GOG distribution and maybe also public mods. Can you give me some more precise reference?

update: the GOG release is a Win64 game, there's no way it could be hooked by DxWnd.

oh there isnt really a public version of this Battlefront version anymore - Strategic Command WW2 Pacific Theater is the first version of the later game Strategic Command WW2 War in the Pacific.

There are the Strategic Command WW2 Classic games, but they dont have the classic version for the Pacific Theater game.

So i was aware you might not be able to reproduce this yourself, unless i were to send you privately the game installer and license key

i tried restarted dxwnd and turned off AV, but same result still
