what screenshot?
Anyway, I have an idea: since I emulate a shell command, would you mind to start a command prompt and type my command, like this:
c:> explore c:\mygame\
That shouldn't work, but you should get some sort of feedback, an error message telling us why it doesn't work. Maybe the windows explorer is not called "explore.exe" on XP, maybe it is not in the system path, what else? This way we should know ....

How stupid I am .... I forgot that my XP VM is perfect for such a thing.
On XP you have to issue an "explorer" command (mind: explorer with ending "r", not just explore!!!). Too bad I have to check the OS version!

Mumble .... this version has added message box with diagnostic error message, but I'm trying it on another virtual WinXP and this time it seems to work! What about your real XP?
the Edit tab do is redundant, but it is there because it is a common practice to have a duplicated Edit menu and I like following the common practices .... in addition, it holds the Move submenu, so that a basic user can still rearrange its list using this menu instead of the crowded pop-up menu.
Anyway, this version is just experimental, it helps understanding what and how to do it. I'm making more attempts to improve it, in the end I'm sure you'll be (reasonably) happy. And me too!

Simply the fact that when you press OK it would be difficult to check if any of the flags or field values was changed, so for excess of prudence DxWnd assumes that OK means something was updated.
The Cancel case instead is simpler: whatever change has to be cleared, so it is useless to ask.
