Anyone else?  Either an AC3 recording chunk requested above for testing with 
VDR 1.6.0, or testing the patch with 1.6.0 and AC3 recordings and reporting 
experiences would be welcome.

Attached is the exact patch I'm testing with at the moment, over the vdr-
dxr3-0-2 CVS branch - it has some modifications over the one Luca sent (coding 
style, plus toning down logging as these changes seem to provoke more of it in 
non-AC3 scenarios).
