Thanks.  I've run 1.6.0-2 with this a bit and haven't noticed any regressions, 
will keep doing that and commit soon if I don't find problems.  Haven't tested 
playback of recordings with DVB subtitles yet though, but they seem fine in 
live TV.

But I'm afraid I don't have any AC3 channels/recordings easily available at 
the moment; do you happen to have a (VDR 1.6.0-2 compatible) recording 
available that has AC3 of which you could upload a chunk somewhere and link to 
(private mail is fine) that I could use for testing?
