What does DX'er really do?

= Chapter Summary =

In this chapter I will go a bit under the GUI and tell you what DX'er does.

= Details =

If you start DX'er the first time, it will first of all check what settings you use. If you do not have any previously saved settings, DX'er will load the default settings.

After this is done, it will directly read the corresponding country list which depends on what your current band is. Afterwards it heads over to DX Summit.fi and downloads the whole page in HTML and saves it. Then DX'er searches for all the corresponding items and checks if you already have that country or not. If you have it, it will simply searches for the next one. If not, it will search all the other important informations for you (which you set in the settings).
If there is a new country and if DX'er found all the required informations it will put the informations together and show it to you in a list and depending your settings and the results play a sound.

After DX'er is done with this the update counter to show you when it will itself the next time. (DX'er will auto-update itself every 90 seconds in order to not overload the server with the requests.) Then you can for 90 seconds see the results until DX'er will refresh itself.

That is mainly what DX'er does. The exact procedures of DX'er depends on what your settings are.
