It's great to see v5 come out for DWSIM. I'm looking forward to it. I am having some issues with the new UI, it constantly becomes unresponsive on Windows 10. I've tried running the old UI, but get the following error when starting up:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'DWSIM.Thermodynamics.NativeLibraries, Version=4.3.6341.36792, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].
Did you install v5 on top of a v4 previous installation?
I uninstalled DWSIM 4.3 prior to installing DWSIM 5
Thank you,

Hi, I have the same problem (but in windows 7).
I can not use the classic UI and the new interface works slow and with some problem.
I've uploaded a new installer and you should be receiving an email notification shortly. Sorry about that, guys.
No problem, thanks to you.
I'm using without any problem. Sincerely I like more the classical UI. I'm making tutorials for teach in my course.
Thanks a lot!
Sure. The new interface is aimed at Linux and macOS users. The classic UI has more features, but some people complain that it is very complicated to use...
Oh, then I'll definitely stick to the classic UI. As an engineering tool, I think its better to have all the features. I don't think it's complicated at all if you've ever used a process simulator.
Great work.
Daniel,
Thanks for fixing the installer. The classic UI seems to be working well. I cannot get the new UI to work properly on Windows 10. The program becomes unresponsive whenever I try to add a new object (after selecting the compounds and flash algorithm).
I'll stick to the classic UI for now until this gets fixed.
Thanks.
That's strange, I've tested it on Windows 7 at work and Windows 10 at home, both working just fine... you can try opening General Settings on the Launcher and changing the renderer to "WinForms" if you are curious. The classic interface is preferred on Windows for existing users, though I'll be focusing on the new one for now on.
No luck. Tried all render options. Program says "not responding" everytime I try to add a new object. It locks my taskbar as well.
Check if you have a "lasterror.txt" file on your documents folder => "DWSIM Application Data".
No. Documents>DWSIM Application Data has:
Backup folder
config.ini
dwsim_newui.ini

I've tried the new UI in v5.1 and I can go through the wizard fine (add components, thermo model etc), but once I try to add a new object to the flowsheet DWSIM becomes unresponsive. Same issue as with v5.0. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot? Should I send you a video of this behavior?
A video would be great. You could also try changing the PFD Renderer from CPU to OpenGL on the Global Settings panel.
Here is a link to the video https://photos.app.goo.gl/VSl7Ttu4baqXj1OB2
You could try installing the latest version of the .NET Framework.
Already installed. I have v4.7.1 which is the latest I believe.
