Hi, This year, DWSIM is celebrating its 20th Anniversary, so I decided to create something nice and share it with you: a collection of cheat sheets and a reworked quick start guide + technical reference guide. Premium Patrons can get the kit for free. More information: https://www.patreon.com/dwsim/shop <https://lnkd.in/d_3kfgdX> Thank you! Daniel |

Hello, I don't know how new you are in process studies but if the hydrogen is gaseous, you need a compressor (maybe multi stage with interstage gooling) not a pump. If it's liquid hydrogen, it could have some issue due to the thermo model which are not perfect. For exemple some of the proprietary software change the critical coefficient (temperature and pressure) to have more correct results with the EoS equation for H2. I don't know if DWSIM implement that, for H2, always compare it to experimental data. What fluid package do you choose ? Can you send a screenshot ? Hi, I am new to DWsim. However, I was trying to model a simple case of a pump pushing some hydrogen to a tank. However, the case didn't work on DWsim classic but for some reason did worked on the cross-platform version. Any thoughts what is going on? Regards, Mohamed |

Dear friends, For me, DWSIM has always meant a lot of learning, innovation, and cutting edge. DWSIM was the first and only chemical process simulator to be distributed under an open-source license. It was also the first simulator to be made available for other desktop platforms such as Linux and macOS, as well as for Android and iOS. Today, I want to announce the arrival of the DWSIM Web App. This is a version of DWSIM that I am developing while learning to deal with new web technologies. For you, what matters is that this version of DWSIM is also free and runs natively in any modern internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.). You can already load DWSIM v7 files, edit some properties of material streams, run the model and get the results. I'm very excited about this 'experimental' project (because I'm learning a lot with it!) but it will require a separate "funding/support" structure because I have the web-hosting cost and automatic translation fees. Azure hosting is not cheap! You can access DWSIM Web App from here: https://lnkd.in/epQt4GBv I hope you like it and get as excited as I am. Maybe you could become a sponsor/supporter of this project and watch it grow with me? That would be awesome. I'll use discord to discuss/provide support for this project: https://lnkd.in/eCuPK__y Hope you like it! ~Daniel |

Dear all, Today, it is with great joy that I'm launching, together with my friend Nicolas Spogis, the DWSIM Social Responsibility Program. By participating in this program, you will also be responsible for financing social inclusion projects related to DWSIM like the one that we are also launching today, the Voice Commander Extension. We will work on projects that make DWSIM easier to use by people with disabilities and by chemistry students in general, especially those who cannot afford to buy a desktop computer and only have a smartphone. 60% of the donations will go to organizations that fight hunger and poverty in my region, the northeast hinterlands, the poorest one in Brazil. You can join us as an individual or as a company. Read more: https://dwsim.inforside.com.br/new/index.php/dwsim-social-responsibility-program/ With best regards, Daniel |

Dear all, In this live session, you'll learn how to create a Property Package for DWSIM based on the Wilson Activity Coefficient model. We will use Visual Studio 2019 to create and compile a Visual Basic Dynamic Link Library (DLL) containing the model. You can just watch it or follow the activities to create the library on your computer. If you want to do it too, then make sure to have a computer running Windows and install the following BEFORE the live stream: - Visual Studio 2019 Community. Install .NET Development Tools + .NET 4.6.2 Targeting Pack. - DWSIM v6.4.4 or newer we'll be live at 1 PM GMT-4. Get ready! Google Meet link: https://meet.google.com/qwx-uzkk-xoj Take care, Daniel |

The Pipe Network Unit Operation for DWSIM allows modelling and simulation of pipe networks connected through nodes with multiple sources and sinks. Rigorous compositional fluid property calculations are done by DWSIM Property Packages. The Pipe Network Unit Operation for DWSIM has the following features: - Supports Pipe Segments with Rigorous Heat Transfer calculations, Valves, Pumps, Compressors and Gas-Liquid Separators; - Rigorous fluid properties and phase distribution calculated with DWSIM Property Packages - Fully-featured Graphical Network Designer - Supports Pressure and Mass/Molar/Volumetric Flow specification on endpoints (Sources and Sinks) More information: http://dwsim.inforside.com.br/wiki/index.php?title=Pipe_Network_Unit_Operation |

Hi Urs, The NL flash uses a nested loops approach to solve PH and PS flashes, i.e. in an external loop it looks to converge the temperature in order to match calculated and specified enthalpy/entropy while in the inner loop (PT flash) it converges the vapor fraction of the mixture using the current value of the temperature in the external loop. The IO (Inside-Out) flash is completely different and uses some form of linearization of the involved equations, see this paper for a reference: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0098135498002221#BIB1 Regards Daniel Em seg., 25 de nov. de 2019 às 10:40, Urs Wagner <or...@gm...> escreveu: > > Hello > > What is the differece between NL VLE and IO VLE flash type? > > Thanks Urs > > > > _______________________________________________ > Dwsim-users mailing list > Dws...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/dwsim-users > |

You need to calculate the equilibrium pressure of the inlet streams as DWSIM doesn't support Temperature and Enthalpy as the stream specification pair. With inlet P and H it can calculate inlet Ts, then the outlet P, H and then T: https://github.com/DanWBR/dwsim5/blob/windows/DWSIM.UnitOperations/Unit%20Operations/Mixer.vb#L75 Em qua, 25 de set de 2019 às 06:19, Urs Wagner <or...@gm...> escreveu: > > Hello > > I have two gases with giving temperature and enthalpy to mix. > How does the DWSim mixer calculate the outlet temperature and enthalpy? > I would like to know how it will be simulated. > > Thanks Urs > > _______________________________________________ > Dwsim-users mailing list > Dws...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/dwsim-users > |

Hi all, I've just launched the DWSIM Patreon page! Previous donations have already been very helpful on supporting development of new features and bringing DWSIM to new platforms (Raspberry Pi, macOS, Android, iOS). As DWSIM becomes more mature, development efforts must go towards more complex, specific models and systems. As complexity increases, more development effort (= time) is required. DWSIM now has a Patreon page where you can subscribe to donate a fixed, monthly amount and get exclusive rewards in return. The more you donate, the more rewards you'll get. By becoming a patron, you will support future development of DWSIM while getting access to exclusive support channels and features, including mobile version unlock keys and custom-made plug-ins/add-ins which won't be distributed to anyone else except you. You can also participate on development polls and drive the path for future features. Check it out: https://www.patreon.com/dwsim/overview Regards Daniel |
