    Hi Daniel, I am trying hard to work out the interface problems with DWSIM 5.7.8 running on Linux Mint 19.1, Cinnamon desktop and 64 bit. I have it running on Win10 fine. It is fast and works great. On Linux, the new UI opens but no scrolling elevator bars are present to navigate the panel. The classic interface works fine - no problems.

    The lastest mono-complete is installed and mono-vbnc.

    The terminal provides these messages. Not sure if this helps. This message (below) repeats in the terminal each time I select a flowsheet object and the editor for that object appears.

    (DWSIM.UI.Desktop:4977): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: 18:28:15.961: value "-1.125000" of type 'gfloat' is invalid or out of range for property 'xalign' of type 'gfloat'

    I was looking at the carbon combusion and Cavvett's Problem flowsheets.

    Thanks!

    Rick

    Hi Rick,

    Doesn't the scroll bars show when you hover the mouse over the panel, did you try using your touchpad or mouse wheel?

    On Ubuntu 14 the scrollbars will appear only after I hover the mouse cursor over the panel.

    Regards
    Daniel

    Hi again Daniel, I followed the instructions to install on linux/debian as follows.
    1. Install mono-complete mono-vbnc [ok]
    2. Install via Gdebi the dwsim file. This did not work. I get a dependency error that cannot be reconciled. Here is the command line output.
    $ sudo gdebi dwsim_5.7.14-amd64.deb

    Dependency is not satisfiable: g++-4.8-multilib

    This is a new install on MX Linux, 19.2 beta.

      I'm not sure if this library is really required, it is there because it was used to compile the libSkiaSharp.so (SkiaSharp, the component used to draw the flowsheet).

      Try installing this package (v5.8 preview 1), where I've remove the package requirement: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1FMChJgFmxZoTTxxv8IsuzgPf0MGnnUPb

      It is currently crashing when you try to access the ironpython scripts, so use it with caution.
