Hello, I am Alba Baute. I have written on another occasion.
I´m working with salt electrolysis (2NaCl + 2H2O <=> 2NaOH + Cl2 + H2) In this cell electrolytic there are several secondary reactions. Do these reactions must be put in other excels or placed in the same as the main reaction? And how I can do?

I have another question. In the samples Excel, What values must be put into the portion of components in the input? And in my case, What values should put in the cells that sent him on the bottom?

    Calculation of waste heat
    Standard Potential O2 1,23 V
    Heat capacity water 4,19 KJ/Kg/K
    MW water 18 g/mol

    Hi Alba,
it seems, you don't completely understand the working principal of this excel unit operation.
DWSIM is treating this unit as any other unit operation like a heater. Component molar flows of all components of all streams are written to the excel table prior to the calculation. The same is done with user defined parameter values. Then you take these molar streams and the parameters and do your fancy calculations which represent your unit operation. Eventually you write the calculation results back to the cells of the otput streams. DWSIM triggers the calculation of the Excel file and reads informations from output stream cells back into DWSIM to write these information to the attached output streams.
It is up to you how much details you are going to consider to calculate the electrolysis cell. You can calculate as many side reaction as you want. There is no limitation from DWSIM. Only global molar/mass balance is calculated from DWSIM to check the internal calculations.

Is there a manual describing the operation of the unit Excel?
Some information to let me know that calculations are made for the correct operation of the electrolytic cell.

    Hi Alba,
you need to select the unit operation object and press F1 key. This will show you the help.

As a reminder: This example is not intendet to be a perfect model of an electrolysis cell. This example is mainly for demonstration purposes of this object!
