    Hi,

I've been working on a green hydrogen project producing the hydrogen using PEM electrolysis. I'm encountering an issue downstream from the electrolyser when attempting to separate the hydrogen from the bulk water. There seems to be a lot of hydrogen present in the liquid streams which seems to be a little suspicious considering hydrogen has a much higher volatility than water. I have used a gas-liquid separator and the stream conditions are pressure = 32 barg and T = 15*C.

I was wondering if you knew why this might be happening and how you think I would be able to overcome this issue?

    Many Thanks
    Dev

    Hi,
as you probably know, gases like oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, ... are solving in liquids as well. This is depending on pressure and temperature. This is calculated with the Henry coefficient of such components.
You will have to compare your calculated values with literature to verify the exact value.
