I've got a problem while using the distillation object for the distillation of a wter/ethanol stream.
I've first performed a shortcut distillation to estimate the boiler/condenser duty, the number of stage...to get the specifications required. Then I used the date obtained to perform a simulation with the "column distillation object". It runned successfully with the conditions obtained with the shortcut simulation.
My problems are :
-when changing the condenser duty, there is no influence on the distillate temperature. It is anormal?
-when trying to make a sensitive analysis of the condenser duty on the distillate temperature, nothing change.
Can someone help me?
thanks

This is an azeotropic mixture so an ordinary distillation column model won't work. Maybe you can try ChemSep's column by adding a CAPE-OPEN object. The condenser temperature won't change because it is the azeotropic temperature, adding or removing heat will only change the amount of liquids generated.

Daniel
