I recently learned about this tool and I admire the work put in. It's great that thermodynamic simulators are becoming more accessible.
I was testing out the program today and came across an energy balance error with a heat exchanger that the program did not identify. This may trip people up if they aren't double checking the balances.
I have attached the file.
This should yield a temperature cross error since the cold fluid outlet temperature is being specified and the hot fluid does not have sufficient energy to match without crossing. The heat exchanger calculates the maximum heat exchange without crossing, but does not apply this to the cold side fluid since it's outlet temperature is being specified by the user. The exchanger should either give a temperature cross notification/error while calculating the hot fluid outlet that satisfies the energy balance, or force the maximum heat exchange on the cold fluid while notifying the user that the specified value is not achievable.
Currently the flowsheet calculates successfully even though the hot fluid loses 264 kW and the cold fluid gains 500 kW.
