#7 vdr -P dvd wont start with external device not attached

I have an external usb drive. If i start vdr with the dvd plugin and the external device is not connected, vdr wont start. Even if i symlink /dev/dvdrecorder to /dev/sr0 so the device is always there, dvd-plugin seems to check the Physical presence.
