Hi,

i have two dvb card (1x 1.3FF and 1x2.1 FF) in the
computer and the second is the primary card (2.1FF).
Now if i try to play a dvd, i get a picture but no sound.

If i understand it correctly, i should get at the sound
via DVB too.

Maybe the sound is given at via the first DVB-Card, but
im sorry of being unable to check this.

The sound on the DVD's are all DD and if i have correct
informations, than that sound should be replayed as
analog output from the DVB-card.

Please correct me, if im wrong undert the following
email-adress:
idefix@fechner.net

Thx a lot
Matthias

I confirm this. I have only one DVB card, vdr-1.3.21 and
vdr-dvd-0.3.6-b02. Neither of my DVDs plays sound.

It worked with vdr-1.3.15 and dvd-0.3.5-b06.

I can also confirm. Used to work with 0.3.5 and vdr 1.3.12,
    but 0.3.6b2 + vdr 1.3.22 --> No audio
    --hlu

The same is here: vdr-1.3.23 and dvd-0.3.6_b03 gives no
    audio output.
    (one full-featured card)
Does anyone know more details, if it is vdr or the
dvd-plugin which has to be fixed?
Did anyone try to contact the author of the dvd-plugin?
Is there such thing as a "signal flow diagram" which allows
to track down the problem? (e.g. by routing the decoded
audio to the normal soundcard, or producing a sinewave test
    signal for the DVB card)

    Andreas.

    The same here:

    vdr-1.3.26 (no patches!)
    dxr3-0.2.3-cvs
    dvd-0.3.6_b02

TV is working with sound. DVD is without sound....

    Hi There,

I possibly have found a solution to all the "no audio" problems,
since I had the same trouble shortly and found it not
    handled in any FAQ.
In the VDR-Wiki, I have already modified the corresponding
    point in the
    "problems" section.

    Short hint:
In the main configuration file "setup.conf", find the line
    UseDolbyDigital = 1
    and change this to
    UseDolbyDigital = 0

This should be done with the VDR software _not running_,
    else the file
may be overwritten! Alternatively, walk through the
    On-screen menus:

Menu > Setup > DVB > Use Dolby Digital: no

Don't forget to confirm with Ok.
Please give a short reply here if this is really the point
    searched for.

    Regards,
    Andreas.

    Hi all,

Andreas, your tip was OK for me:

Sound was only present on my dvb card AC3 output but not on
my TV before modifying the UseDolbyDigital option.

Now, it's on my TV. I didn't verified it was still on the
AC3 outpput, but I suppose it's not anymore.

Thanks for this solution Andreas ! ;)

    Olivier.
