Better error handling and improved user interface including a status box and individual user preferences.

This release incorporates some nice enhancements in the GUI. Specifically it is now possible to open/save dvd-homevideo sessions. The software also allows the user to restart sessions without having to recapture video from the camcorder, or without having to run transcode again if the application failed at any point after that. Enjoy, and give me feedback as always.

New features include support for PAL video, better transcode and mplex calls, support for dvd-menu_0.7.*, user selectable aspect ratio of 4:3 or 16:9 and ac3 is now the only option for output audio for hardware compatibility.

The GUI for dvd-homevideo has been completed. It uses the Java Swing framework and simplifies the task of capturing, transcoding and creating DVD menus for your personal videos.

I am in the process of changing the software from a shell script to Java. In doing so I am also creating a GUI for ease of use. The new software should be available for use in the beginning of September.

It's simple, plug in your dv camcorder into the firewire port of your computer and run dvd-homevideo. Come back hours later with a burned DVD in your DVD +/- R drive. Make sure and check out all of the options available because you can customize your home video DVD just the way you want it! Enjoy!
