#98 network traffic hangs extraction

I use a netopia firewall/dhcp server behind a cable
modem con nection. if the internet is connected to the
firewall during extraction, there appears to be too
much network traffic/status info out there and the
extraction eventually hangs... granted, I am extraction
2 and 3 hour shows (TourDeFrance live broadcasts)...
but that still shouldn't be an issue.

perhaps there is a latency setting that can be adjusted
to allow for this?
