dvbsnoop 1.2 - the dvb/mpeg stream analyzer released...

dvbsnoop - a open source dvb/mpeg analyzer program is now available as release version 1.2. Digital television (DTV) will make analog TV obsolete
in the future, but how does DTV work and what data
are transmitted? dvbsnoop will translate the DVB protocol used by digital TV and send via cable, satellite or terrestrial digital television into human readable form.

This version comes with some new helpfull features like
bandwidth-snoop for PIDs, pidscan on a transponder, and frequency
signal status snooping. Also playback from saved streamfiles
is possible...

Analyzing data of the Elecronic Program Guide (EIT), Network
Information Table (NIT), Program Mapping Tables (PMT), etc. is
also part of the program, as handling of Transport Stream (TS)
and Packetized Elementary Stream packets (PES)...

dvbsnoop requires the DVB-API version 1 or 3 installed on your
system. The DVB-API will be integrated part of the linux kernel
as of version 2.6.0.

To get some expression what dvbsnoop can do for you, please
