From: Don Macrae [mailto:do...@xp...] Hi All.. Mark Brooks just let me know that Peter died last Tuesday. He was only 64, but has been struggling with leukemia for some time. This is very sad. Peter was the personification of irrepressible. A practical joker and a repository of hammy jokes and stories which he himself enjoyed to the max! He was most proud of the time he and others inflated a weather balloon in a senior manager's office, through a window. The office door became strangely resistant to attempts to open it! He has been a frequent poster to this list, both asking and answering questions. Not a man who had a clue about idleness, he was very dedicated to programming, and the odd bit of hardware construction. In recent times He was responsible for creating DUnit2 - and this was in his supposed retirement! Peter and I worked together for quite some time, and we had our differences, but they were merely technical. I always took my hat off to him for his vitality and commitment. A real character and a man of integrity. Bye Pete! |

Thanks for passing on this news, Glenn, albeit very sad. I'm all but inactive with this group and I don't believe I ever interacted with Peter, but I certainly recognized his name from posts to this list. Sad news, indeed. Pete was very enthusiastic about the work we've done in this group, but his illness made him stay away frequently, sometimes for long periods of time. Please pass my regards to Pete's family.
