I don't know where my inspiration came from tonight, but I just bucked up and did the avatar overhaul. I love the default avatars. Signup is way easier, it looks way better, and it simplifies a lot of code not having to deal with the image blobs. I'm so excited how it looks.
Right now I'm basically in content creation and test mode. The two items below go hand in hand; create content, play through, note choppy user interaction. I am so very close to the 1.0 release.
Tonight was a good night, it was a reminder why I'm still working on this. It was amazing going back into some of the modules/player.php code and reworking some of the oldest parts of the codebase for the avatars. It aged well. I long considered a lot of the code to be crap, but its fairly understandable and well modularized. I don't even have too many comments but even after all these years I can still be super productive.
