I'm sorry if this is a really dumb request, but here
    goes...
I'm running dump 0.4b15 on a RedHat 6.2 server. This
all sits on a Compaq server with a Compaq SCSI DLT
drive. I can dump a single filesystem to the tape
    fine using 'dump -0uaf /dev/st0 /filesystem', and
restore OK, but when I try to repeat the command for
other filesystems to the same tape I only seem to end
up with the last dump on the tape. I've played about
with dump and mt but to no avail.

Can someone tell me how to back-up multiple
filesystems to a single tape, and position the tape,
    and restore?

This has now been sorted. (I thought it must be a silly
    problem.)

It seems that I was using a rewinding tape device
    (/dev/st0) instead of a non-rewinding tape device
    (/dev/nst0).

You're right, you must use the non-rewinding tape device in
order to be able to put multiple dumps on one tape.

I should really write a FAQ one of these days :)
