    Does uncompressed dump work ? If it does, the problems are
    probably related to the fact that your drive does not
    support (or is not set up to accept) variable blocksize (and
    this is a requirement for compressed dump, as said in the
    dump man page).

    Uncompressed Dump is O.K.;
    The same DLT works with Sparc Solaris and ufsdump fine (for
    example ufsdump 0f /dev/rmt/oh /home);

    Then the problem is with variable blocksizes. Either your
    tape driver must be set to accept variable blocksize (using
    mt setblksize 0 or something like that) or it doesn't accept
    variable blocksizes at all, in which case there is nothing I
    can do.
