I've checked it and:

- linux restore is able to read a HP/UX dump (including binary files -
although HP/UX dumps seems to be of an old dump tape format).

- the HP/UX restore coredumps when trying to read a linux dump...

I'd say that the HP/UX restore is buggy, and that linux dump/restore
is correct.
