The dump needs to be big enough and needs to contains hard links, symlinks, devices, text files, binary files, maybe some files with special BSD attributes (append-only, secure deletion etc, do not know if this exists on BSD). And second, using the native BSD restore, could you verify that you can read a linux dump? This is however a low priority thing... do this when you'll have some time to spare. Thanks.
