I don't think that the linux dump/restore code will compile any more
on FreeBSD... but this is not the point actually:

All that I would like you to do is make a dump of one of BSD's filesystems
, using the native dump, and send it to me (along with a, say md5sum of all
files, so I can test the integrity after restoring). The dump needs to be big
enough and needs to contains hard links, symlinks, devices, text files,
binary files, maybe some files with special BSD attributes (append-only,
secure deletion etc, do not know if this exists on BSD).

And second, using the native BSD restore, could you verify that you can 
read a linux dump?

This is however a low priority thing... do this when you'll have some time
to spare.
