Hi Eric, I do use a block size of 0. I wish that would fix it. I think=20 my problem is with mt-st since I can't even=20 position the tape with "mt -f /dev/nst0 fsf 1" without an error. I'm not sure the block size even affects mt-st but just to be on the safe side it is set to 0. Thanks for the reply.
