[Dump-users] dump log file???

Hi everyone,
Has anybody happen to know if there is a dump command to store the dump 
log on the fly?? It would be useful for check huge backups with bzlib 
compression.
I've unsuccessfully tried to make:
#(dump 0un ....) > dump.log
#dump ... > dump.log
#dump... | tee dump.log
Any other clue?
