Those errors are caused by the fact that you're comparing two different
things: the backuped /dev (the one stored on the disk and seen by dump)
is in fact hidden by the dynamic udev based /dev (which restore sees).
I'd say that either you don't compare the backup, or you compare the
filesystem with udev not running (requiring booting from alternate
media), or you simply exclude /dev from the dump, since it isn't
terribly useful nowadays.
