dude 1.2 is a major update of this long-established development environment, to bring it up to date. It is now ready to download.

The new features are:

• the "dude" logo has been removed from the main page so it fits better on 16:9 screens.
• there is an extra option to allow -Xdiags:verbose compilation at the touch of a button.
• the options default to sensible values on initial installation, saving setup time.
• the reports are now in emboldened font for ease of reading at smaller font size.... read more

I have failed to find any problems with dude 1.15 in the last twelve months of continuous use. Anybody else any comments, good or bad? If so, please write a review. Thanks!

Never say that a software product is stable!

Found a few problems with dude:

1. If an invalid directory is entered, the system can hang when the compile button is pressed.

2. The menu-bar gets squashed if the dude main window is flattened.

3. Moving up the directory tree can give incorrect results, especially when the Windows desktop is involved.

These problems have all been fixed in version 1.15.

dude is now pretty stable. The only change from version 1.13 is a minor improvement in the design of the file dialogs, to make it even easier to select a file or directory. The detailed changes are:

1. The directory boxes are now shaded, to make them easier to distinguish from files.
   2.There is no vertical scroll bar, and there is always a horizontal scroll bar. This prevents the filenames being obscured by the horizontal scroll bar. The file selection pane is laid out with room for eight filenames vertically.
   3.The horizontal scroll bar slider moves more sensibly when you hit the arrow buttons or click to either side of it.... read more
