In this video we show the installation procedure plus a troubleshooting section that may help you with the issue. It seems that the database/ODBC was not installed correctly, this issue is handled in the video.
If still you can't figure it out, comeback and we'll help you with it.

Thank you for your attention to the issue. I watched the video. Then, I realized that a step was missing in my installation prcess. The screen capture of the dialog window from your YouTube video clip is attached. In other words, that dialogbox did not show up during my installation process. Still the program fails to start, after 1) reinstalling the software 2) manually installing the ODBC driver 3) manually installing the FireBird databse. Another missing piece I noticed was the FireBird database control in the Control Panel. Thus, I manually started the database, but still the program failed to start.
Is your OS 32 or 64 bit? The version avaiable here is 64 bit only.
Do you have the latest installer (v 3.0.1.55)?
It is very wierd to not have the dialogs from the database installer, that's third party, but it always should appear.
Since we are not sure if the database components are getting installer correctly, lets try the following manual solution:
Go to the isntallation folder of the database (normally C:\Program Files\Firebird\Firebird_2_5\bin). There copy the file called fbclient.dll.
Paste the file copied in step 1 into the folder C:\Windows\System32, you'll need admin privilegies to do so.
That should work and is an automatic step performed by the installer, I haven't seen this kind of error since a couple of years.
Please let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the information. I remember back in the day that I saw something similar with a corporate Surface Pro, for some reason, the database couldn't be installed following the standard procedure. We solved it as follows:
Go to Control panel -> programs and features. There, uninstall the firebird Database and the ODBC.
Run the installer for the database provided with OpenDSS-G. Run it as administrator (right click -> run as administrator).
when the installer asks you for the destination folder, which is normally "C:\Program files\Firebird", change it for "C:\Firebird".
After finishing the installation of the database, install the ODBC also as administrator, change also the destination folder outside of the Program file folder.
After it, you should be able to see the database icon at the control panel window. If you do, check if the database is running, if so, then we have succeeded!
That worked in that opportunity. Please let me know if it works in your case.
Best regards

Thank you for the further steps. After following those steps, still the program failed to start.
1) All the installers ran with the Administrator previledge.
2) During the installation, the dialog window, the one in the screen capture of the dialog window from your YouTube video ('Capture4.jpg' above) did not appear.
3) The Firebird DB control did not appear in the control panel.
4) The installation of the database and ODBC in the directory outside of the "Program Files" can be checked in the attached screen capture.
Wow, this is a very unique case. There are a couple of solutions I can think on:
Download the latest databse installer from the firebird website: https://firebirdsql.org/en/firebird-2-5-9/, that may help. Use only Database 2.5.X, v3 will not work with OpenDSS-G. Make sure the database installer is 64 bit.
Have you considered upgrading to Windows 10?
Anyway, try with the database installer, the ODBC can keep the same. uninstall the previous database and try with the most recent installer (the one we provide is 2.5.7).
Please let me know how it goes.

Aha!, you have a 32 bit firebird server isntalled in your computer. that's the problem, that's why you cannot configure/start the 64 bit Firebird server in your PC. The solution is simple, uninstall the 32 bit Firebird and install the 64 bit version. Look for it at the "programs and features" menu at the control panel.
After uninstalling the 32 bit version you should have access to all the configuration menus when installing the database. OpenDSS-G has no issues, the issue here is the database, just because you have the 32 bit server running instead of 64.
Please let me know how it goes.

Thank you for your patience with dealing the issue. Sorry to speak, the issue persists after taking out the installation and reinstalling the necesasy 64bit version. Here is the screen capture image where you can see that no 'Firebird database' is left in the entries of 'Uninstall or change a program'. Would you tell me what the next step is?
Since the installer was 32 bit it is probably you'll not see it there. Lets try something:
Go to C:\Program files (x86)\Firebird
There, look for the database folder, it must be something like "Firebird_2-X" where x is the revision number (1, 2, 5, 7, ...), then get into that folder.
Within the folder look for a file called "unins000.exe" and try to execute it. that should help you unisntalling the 32 bit version.
If it doesn't work and you cannot uninstall it, delete the firebird folder from C:\Program Files (x86) and restart the computer. This is an extreme solution and I hope you don't have to go for it.
After this procedure, you should be able to install the x64 database.
Please let me know how it goes.

Hello there,
When I looked at the directory, 'C:\Program Files (x86)', I could not find any directory, starting with 'Firebird'. The attached screen file shows those subdirectories under that directory of which name start with 'D/E/f/G'.
At this point I don't think there is anything I can do for you. It seems that there is/was a previous Firebird 32bit installation. Maybe installed somewhere outside of the standard path. The thing is that the previous installation is disrupting the new ones, which will directly affect our product.
I would suggest to ask your IT department to help you with this issue and/or installing it in a different computer.
Hope you can figure it out.

Hello there,
When I tried to start the program, I got this error:

Once I click 'OK', then the second pop up comes out:

So, I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it, but the error persists.
Would you help me to resolve this issue?
